Performed the Nightcrawler White House attack in X-Men 2 — widely considered the greatest superhero opening action sequence of all time.

Kirk Caouette is a veteran Hollywood stunt performer, stunt coordinator, fight choreographer, and filmmaker with over 25 years in the international film industry. He has performed and coordinated on tent-pole features with a combined global box office of over $2 billion, and has worked with virtually every major studio including Marvel/Disney, Warner Bros/DC, Universal, Paramount, Sony, Netflix, Amazon, and HBO.

Known for his dynamic contributions to modern wirework and previsualization storyboards, Kirk performed the Nightcrawler White House attack sequence in X-Men 2 — widely considered the greatest superhero opening action sequence of all time.

Beyond stunt work, Kirk is a prolific screenwriter and independent film director, celebrated with 18 awards and nominations for his cinematic work. He is the only member of UBCP/ACTRA to be nominated for both Best Stunt Coordinator and Best Lead Actor in a feature film.

What is Film Fu Action Academy?▾
Film Fu Action Academy is Portugal's first professional stunt training school. We teach the same skills used in Hollywood and international film productions — fight choreography, falls, wire work, weapon handling, action acting, and how to shoot and edit action sequences. Our lead instructor, Kirk Caouette, has over 25 years of experience performing and coordinating stunts on major films including X-Men: The Last Stand, Watchmen, X-Men 2, Fantastic Four, Catwoman, Prey, and Elektra.
Do I need any prior experience?▾
No. Our IMPACT (1-day) and FULL CONTACT (3-day) courses are designed for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced martial artists and performers. Every discipline is taught progressively, starting with fundamentals. If you have a background in martial arts, gymnastics, dance, or acting, you'll find those skills translate directly. The SCREEN FIGHTER progression system starts at Phase I: Recruit with no prerequisites beyond basic fitness.
Is stunt training dangerous?▾
Safety is the foundation of everything we teach. Professional stunt performers don't take unnecessary risks — they train extensively to make dangerous-looking action completely safe. You'll learn proper technique, body mechanics, and safety protocols from day one. Our facility uses professional-grade crash mats and pads. Kirk Caouette has over 25 years of on-set safety experience.
What does a typical day look like?▾
Classes are hands-on and physical. A typical day starts with a warm-up, followed by technique instruction and drilling, then practical application where you put it all together — often choreographing and performing short action sequences. You'll work with crash mats and prop weapons. Think of it as part training, part creative workshop. All fight sequences are filmed in 4K so you walk away with footage.
How much do courses cost?▾
Film Fu Fundamentals is a 3-day workshop priced at €375. This includes all equipment, safety gear, and professional 4K filming of your stunts. Dates are coming soon — join the waiting list to be notified first.
Where is the school located?▾
We're based in Sintra, Portugal — a UNESCO World Heritage town just 30 minutes from Lisbon. The exact facility address is provided upon booking confirmation.
Do I get any footage or certification?▾
Yes to both. All your stunts are professionally filmed in 4K and delivered to you digitally after the course — this is real demo reel material. You also receive a certificate of completion for every course and SCREEN FIGHTER phase you finish.
Can this lead to a career in stunts or film?▾
It can. Film Fu Fundamentals gives you a solid foundation in professional screen action and real 4K footage of your work. Kirk provides personal assessment and industry guidance based on 25+ years of experience. As Film Fu Action Academy grows, we plan to offer advanced courses and agency representation to connect performers with real productions in Portugal and internationally.
What is Film Fu Agency?▾

What language are classes taught in?▾
Classes are taught in English. Portuguese instruction may be available depending on demand.
What's the age requirement?▾
You must be 18 or over to attend. Students aged 16-17 may attend with written parental consent.
Can I pay in instalments?▾
Yes. We offer instalment plans on all courses, allowing you to spread payments over multiple instalments rather than paying in one go. Details are provided at checkout.
